[Like many others, the recent experiment had caused Elliot Nightray some grief. Unlike everyone else, though, Elliot wasn't worried about his "family" situation now that things were over with. Something else has been worrying him instead. Namely...]

Everyone affected by that experiment had dreams last week, right? Did anyone dream of things that didn't happen? Or things that couldn't have happened?

[Unfortunately, there isn't much to do since it's raining, so housemates can find Elliot sitting near the living room window, reading. It doesn't look like he's enjoying it, though. Something's really bothering him about those dreams.]

What the hell kind of joke is that?! That would mean I had to have died!

[Was that possible, though? Even without a scar to prove it? Maybe it was, here.]

A very bad one. But that's impossible then, isn't it?

[After all, a lot had happened since then. But Elliot doesn't seem satisfied by this. That can't just be it.]

[Leo falls silent at that. He knows the argument is weak, but in face of something that is hard to disprove...]

Do you think it's possible that we just had normal dreams, Elliot?

[He'd believe it more if they both hadn't had the same dream.]

Yeah. Don't they tend to be unreliable at times- you remember the experiments we did back in school?

[Did he mean to say that it was the experiment... going wrong?]

Am I thinking too much?

[Silence, but Leo doesn't break the eye contact. That sounded to him more like Elliot questioning himself- he's not going to volunteer anything for that.]

[Elliot's quiet for a moment longer before he shakes his head a bit.]

I... I can't accept that reasoning.

[Something just doesn't feel right about it.]

[There is nothing but the sound of rain outside, quiet, before he asks the same question that Elliot had had.]

Then why do you think we had those dreams?

I don't know, but... They have to mean something. They have to. And I'm going to find out what.

[There is no small amount of conviction in his words. He wanted to understand.]

...yeah.

And you won't accept anything less. Am I right?

Yeah... You're right.

[And there's another moment of silence as he just... thinks. Was there nothing else? Ah—]

Did anything else happen in your dream?

[Hmm...ah!] I did dream once of when you gave me my glasses. Does that count?

[D-did he really have to have that kind of dream...?]

No, I... I mean in the one you told me about.

I can't remember. I think I woke up after you were...

[His voice trails off and he shrugs. He doesn't feel like saying it. It's not like he couldn't fill in the blanks anyway.]

You think?

It's been almost a week. I don't usually remember my dreams.

[Well, that wasn't unreasonable. Elliot had to force himself to remember just what he'd dreamed of, especially when the dreams were events that actually occurred.]

And after I blacked out... there was nothing else?

[He just had to make sure.]

Nothing of interest. It was rather boring having to look after you, actually.
