Definitely not a mass kidnapping. The journals were too quiet for that and they were bound to pick up at least one. A draft would have had an announcement, so not that either.

I'm looking into it. So far there's no type of discernible pattern among those who have received these the memory gaps. There is also no evidence that those people were around on the day. I myself am among the affected, which complicates things. The most likely explanation is of course some type of Malnosso explanations, but it remains to be seen exactly what they did, and without those left behind noticing.

...And any community is full of potential hiding places. True, this place is no city, but rooftops often offer privacy. Bushes and trees also make for sufficient hiding places.

As far as I can work out, everyone that vanished on that day came back thinking they were from somewhere else. And the people that vanished might be all the people who decided to take Catherine up on his 'world-visiting' thing, but I can't confirm that.
