[There's a little note left over the journals today. It's directed toward his housemates, but not filtered, because Elliot Nightray doesn't give a damn about filters.]

I had some flowers planted behind the house. Get used to it.

[He doesn't expect there to be any problems, but it was a hell of a lot better than telling them personally.

Alas, Elliot's business with flowers today isn't finished yet. Because his servant has severe anger issues, there is a vase that must be replaced. It'll most likely end up broken again, but today is something of a special occasion, so Elliot will go out of his way to visit the stores and find a vase, and then some flowers to put in it.

Despite being as independent as he is, though, this isn't something he normally does. He's a Nightray, dammit. That's probably why Elliot will do his best to avoid socializing as much as he can. ...more than he already does.]

[Which isn't exactly a problem, it's just more than he was expecting.]

[And judging by Elliot's expression, he knows that that bit isn't his fault, at least. Otherwise someone's in for a rebuking.]

He insisted. [He had wanted to do more, but Elliot didn't want to trouble him. Gilbert wasn't obligated to go out of his way for his younger brother's servant. He stands up, reaching for the sheet music and handing them back to Leo.] These are yours.

[He reaches up to take them, but really, he can't help but comment quite idly--]

So I won't hear you sing?

[Elliot stiffens. Ugh, did you really have to mention that again...]

[...but he gets himself together quick enough.]

O-of course not! There are too many people...

[Ehhh, he kind of hoped he was off the hook...]

[No way. Since when has Leo let him off easy? Still, he catches Elliot's sleeve.]

[Elliot looks down at his sleeve, slightly confused for a moment, but he nods at him.]

I'm glad you like it.

[And he lets go. It's the small things like this that make him glad that he chose to stand by Elliot's side and why he wouldn't give up days like this for anything.

For now, he'll fix a bright smile on his face.]

Ahh, I wonder what kind of cake he's made.

[There is a title at the top of the first page—"éclaircis", which comes from the word meaning "to brighten".

Elliot, on the other hand, is ready to head back to his room now, at least until dinner is ready.]
