I have books I need to get rid of— [...well. That's not right. He corrects himself.] —return. There's too many for me to carry, so I'll need help.

[Elliot, that's not a request, it's a demand. But this is Elliot Nightray—he does not and will never care. Housemates can find Elliot sorting through the books in his servant's room, trying to pile as many into a box as he can. This is going to take a while.

Others can find him hauling this stupid box of books to the library. It's especially cold today, but once again, Elliot does not care. He is getting rid of these books one way or another, dammit. It's only a small start, but he is tired of waiting.]

Don't worry about it. Helping me get rid of these is enough.

[It's only a few more minutes before she arrives at the house. She says a brief goodbye, closes the journal, and knocks politely.]

[It'll be just a moment before Elliot answers, since he's carrying another small pile of books into the living room. When he opens the door for Ami, he gestures for her to come in.

There are piles of books all over the living room—on the end tables, on the piano, on the floor...]

Thanks for coming.

[Most people's first thought upon seeing this sight would be 'overkill'.

Ami's?]

It looks sort of like home. [She's neat and tidy by habit, but her tendencies with books... well... they get a little out of hand.]

[...if that's her first thought upon seeing the mess, Elliot's sure she's absolutely no better than his servant!]

It's too much for someone's bedroom.

[Especially a small bedroom!]

Ah- Right. [Her smile turns a bit awkward with embarrassment. She's said something odd again, hasn't she?]

Shall we begin? Do you have boxes or crates to use for them?

I think there's a few boxes. [He had only grabbed one for himself, so there should still be some left.] I'll go find them.

I'll start gathering the books into piles. [Mostly for the sake of being able to sort them before they go.]

Alright.

[With that, Elliot disappears upstairs. His room was previously a storage room, so there had to still be some stuff up there somewhere.]

[By the time Elliot comes back, Ami has a few stacks of books already sorted.]

I'll pack up the ones that are ready.

Thanks. [He sets the boxes down nearby so she can make use of them. The boxes are of varying sizes, but they should prove useful.] There are some books you might be interested in over there.

[He gestures to a pile sitting on top of the piano.]

[Her head turns towards them automatically, and she cranes her neck for a better look at the titles on the spines.]

Thank you for separating them for me.

It's alright. I was looking through them anyway. [Not that he was being sentimental or anything! That's just silly. He picks up a pile of books from one of the end tables and sets them down in one of the boxes.]

You must have had a lot of good memories of reading through them.

Come to think of it... I feel sort of badly that we haven't met before, with a common interest.

I haven't read most of these. [In fact, the amount he had read probably didn't even amount to a quarter of what was here. Maybe even less.] But it's alright. My name's Elliot Nightray.

[Truthfully, he just wasn't very good at being sociable.]

I'm Ami Mizuno. [He looks foreign; she uses the foreign name order accordingly.] I'm pleased to meet you.

It's nice to meet you, too. [He goes to pick up another stack of books. She mentioned sharing a common interest, so that probably meant...] Do you go to the library a lot?

I do. Reading is one of my hobbies. [It feels good to say 'one of', instead of only being that class exam genius, only the girl who studies.]

It must be the same for you, to have all of these.

It is, but these aren't mine. These were my servant's. I haven't read most of these.

[Ah; she'd thought the servant had kept them onhand for Elliot.]

I see. He had a wide variety in his selection; he must have been very well-read. [And now she'll be imagining a nice, dignified, cultured sort.]

He sure as hell never acted like it. [Though, maybe that's just because his servant was so quiet.] But he's always been that way. He'll read anything.

[Hey, quiet types are often bookish types.]

I would have liked to be able to get to know him.

He's pleasant enough if you're not around him for a long time. [Elliot just speaks so highly of his servant.] This one's full. Can you carry it?

I'll do my best to. [It's too heavy for her, really; but sheer stubbornness might help her out.]

Should I go with you?

[What's with everyone taking more than they can handle? He doesn't mind going with to help, but it's strange to him how everyone tries to push themselves!]
