Daily Life Meme
2) Weight: No canon weight. Let's say around 56.7kg (125 lbs), about average for his height.
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Blue eyes, light... blonde/brown hair. His hair is a mystery.
4) Age: Sixteen.
5) Voice: He is voiced by Hirofumi Nojima in the anime. Here is the obligatory YouTube link in which Elliot bitches about a fictional character's unfounded popularity.
6) Who does the housework in their house/apartment?: In general, probably Gilbert. Leo cleans up after Elliot specifically, but if they're avoiding each other, then... well, no one does it. :| Unless it's something that requires immediate attention, he will leave his messes there, because it's not his job to clean it up.
7) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: Gilbert does most of the cooking. If he's not around to do it, Leo will cook for Elliot and himself.
8) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Read. Elliot could spend hours reading, and he enjoys it. He practices swordplay often, and he plays the piano, but they're not quite everyday activities. He likes to go out on better days just to walk around, because he's the type to get antsy after sitting still for too long.
9) Their general sense of fashion: Like a boss.
...by which I mean like a typical Victorian nobleman. When it comes to color, he wears lots of blacks, grays, and whites, with a splash of blue. He wears clothes that don't expose any skin, and he usually wears a pair of gloves. Even his most casual outfits are still pretty fancy. He wears a long coat in cooler weather. His formal clothes bear the Nightray family crest, but he obviously doesn't wear these as often.
10) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: Reading, music (writing, playing the piano), and swordplay are his main hobbies. These are things he's always done, and things he regularly enjoys in Luceti. He hasn't come up with any new hobbies since he arrived. (He had been coaxed into attempting gardening during an experiment, but after his servant ruined the garden, he hasn't tried to take care of plants since.)
11) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Not really. He learned that his servant is very sensitive about what happens to him thanks to a kidnapping, but otherwise, nothing's changed.
12) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: Elliot has a sword that he received as a gift from his father. It's a symbol that represents his position as a member of the Nightray house. It's easily the most important thing he's ever owned. Ever. As such, he carries it with him everywhere, regardless of circumstance. (He even takes it to school with him in canon, hiding it inside a violin case and carrying it with him wherever he goes.) Oh, and you'd better not touch it. He really doesn't like it when people touch his sword.
13) Who are their neighbors?: Martel and Mithos, in house 52. House 54 is empty.
14) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: He arrived on March 6th. It's been five months and sixteen days (as of August 22nd). The length of time hasn't particularly impacted him in any way. Well, you know, besides pissing him off.
15) Their favorite areas/stores/hang-out locations?: The library. It's not so much his "favorite" place as it is... the only place with anything interesting for him to do. He likes to read, and the library serves that purpose. Otherwise, he spends a lot of time at the house. Nowhere else stands out to him.
no subject
17) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: Not really. His hair might have grown a little, but it's not noticeable yet.
18) What do they miss the most from home?: What's left of his family—his mother, his father, and his older sister, Vanessa. And maybe Ada's cats.
19) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: His handwriting is probably a little neater than average. Not beautiful, flowing script or anything, but neat. For the most part, he writes the way he speaks. (You know, except for all the yelling—he doesn't really convey that in his writing.)
20) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: He doesn't act differently, but it might seem that way if you compare him to his writing. He will seem more polite through his writing, since if he's speaking, he's prone to... well, speaking too loud. So in his voiced entries, he might seem to be your typical rude, obnoxious teenage boy, while in written ones, he seems much more calm and well-mannered.
21) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Yes to both. :|; Thanks to the Luceti AU experiment, Elliot regained some lost memories through the dreams he'd had of his normal life, and he made it his goal to find out their meaning. Unfortunately, when he was kidnapped and returned with his chain, he lost those memories again, as well as his suspicions about them. So he's pretty much back where he started.
22) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: It's an upgrade. It's still really strange for him, all these appliances and electricity and things, but it's not so bad because he doesn't have to use them. His brother and his servant do.
23) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?: N/A.
24) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: He can play the piano! He likes to play and compose his own music. He is skilled in swordplay as well.
25) Anything else you want to note?: Nope.
Completed: August 22, 2011.
Luceti Valley AU Experiment
There's nothing unusual about Elliot Nightray. He enjoys reading books, he daydreams of becoming a knight, he loves practicing swordplay and playing the piano. He might also secretly like kittens and flowers, but that isn't very unusual at all, either. Overall, though, Elliot is normal. He's as normal as they get.
Two years ago, things started to get a little weird. Coincidentally, this is also when Elliot happened to meet his friend, Leo. These two things can't possibly be related, right? Sure.
Not long after meeting his friend, Elliot had disappeared suddenly. He wasn't gone for very long—more than a few days but no longer than a week. (Perhaps one of those kidnappings that happens every so often. You know, the ones no one can explain?) When he returned, he wasn't in the best condition, physically or mentally. Physically, he recovered from the incident just fine, his wounds healing over time and eventually looking as healthy as ever. Mentally was a different story—he didn't remember having disappeared or being kidnapped, and after recovering, he didn't even remember that he was hurt. Perhaps having no recollection of that wouldn't be such a bad thing, except that even stranger things began to happen after that.
For seemingly no reason at all, Elliot's siblings began to die in these mysterious "accidents". His brothers were the first to go almost a year ago now, and soon after, his sister became a victim as well. (There was another casualty around the same time that his sister died, but it is seemingly unrelated.)
Elliot would not settle for his parents' explanation on the matter. It couldn't just be an accident, as far as he was concerned. And then, to make matters worse, his parents quietly disappeared as well. It was upsetting, but frustrating for Elliot as well. He moved in with his cousin's family, where he lives now as he continues to search for the truth regarding his siblings' deaths and his parents' disappearances.
Unfortunately for Elliot, it's the kidnapping he can't remember that happens to be the key to solving this mystery.
It's said that the people who disappear from Luceti Valley aren't quite the same people when they finally return. Elliot Nightray is no exception. When he returned, the differences were not apparent except in his lapses of memory. He doesn't remember having left the village ever since he had almost completely recovered from his injuries. More importantly, however, he also doesn't remember the deaths of his siblings—the ones that he had killed himself.
Ironic, isn't it? The very same killer he hunts is, in reality, himself, and he doesn't remember a single thing. Maybe Elliot Nightray isn't so normal after all.
Notes:
- Elliot's kidnapping and experiment effect are, obviously, a mirror of the chain Humpty Dumpty's effects on Elliot in canon. Whenever Leo was harmed or threatened in any way, Elliot felt a strong, involuntary urge to protect him, and the only way to do it was to punish the offending person with death.
- This effect, however, has faded over time, meaning that if Leo's life is threatened currently, Elliot won't react in the same unconscious way. If he defends Leo, he'll do it because he is aware, and not because some outside force is causing him to. (Humpty Dumpty's powers are currently dormant in Luceti, and this explains why Elliot no longer acts on the chain's whims.)
- Despite the basic role reversal between himself and Leo (Leo is the rich kid, Elliot is not, and he plays the servant role to Leo instead), Elliot hasn't changed very much.
Wing Meme
His wings are black. The Vessaliuses are considered to be the family "basked in light", and the Nightrays have kind of been cast in the shadows. They are generally looked down upon by others, even as nobles. His wings are pure black, unlike Gilbert's and Vincent's, which is sort of meant to show that he's a "true" Nightray, since he's the only blood heir left to his family. He doesn't hide his wings (if only because his servant is there to poke holes in his clothes), but he doesn't tend to acknowledge them much. ...anymore. His first couple weeks in Luceti were probably spent trying to resist the urge to tear them off. :|
Completed: September 9, 2011.
Physical Traits Meme
APPEARANCE: Here! (Or here, for a colored image.) Brownish blonde hair, light blue eyes, dresses like a typical Victorian nobleman. He wears a lot of black, always wears a pair of gloves when he's out, and generally doesn't show much skin. He also always wears a tiny pair of light blue earrings (you can kind of see them here). He dresses less formally in the warmer weather, of course, and when he's at the house.
HEIGHT: 172cm (5'7").
WEIGHT: No canon weight. I put it around 56.7kg (125 lbs), which is about average for his height.
POSTURE: He tends to carry himself pretty well. He stands up straight and doesn't slouch, but he's not stiff or anything.
VOICE: He's voiced by Hirofumi Nojima in the anime, which you can listen to here, where he complains about a fictional character's unfounded popularity and spoils Oz about said character's fate in the book series they both enjoy. This isn't how I imagine him sounding, but I suck at describing things like that, and this is good enough, haha. >>;
ITEMS: His sword. It's a black blade, and he carries it with him everywhere. Everywhere. Odds are, if he's outside, he probably has it with him. Not because he's looking to start fights, or because he feels unsafe in Luceti or anything—it was a gift from his father to represent his status as a Nightray, and he treasures it dearly, so he never leaves the house without it.
PECULIARITIES: He has a scar on his left hand, but it's usually not visible since he wears gloves most of the time. There's also an illegal contractor's seal on his chest, but it's also generally not visible. His hair is pretty darn peculiar, though—no one can explain it. :|;
ANYTHING ELSE? His wings are black. Always visible, but probably easy to miss against his black clothes.
Completed: October 10, 2011.
Housing Meme
Location: House 53
House/Roommates: He lives with his adopted older brothers Gilbert Nightray (
Neighbors: There's house 52 (Mithos, Martel) to the north, and house 54 (Aizen Sosuke) to the south. Across the road is house 56 (Sokka, Katara, Suki, Toph, Zuko, Yue) and house 57 (Tony Stark), as well as the barracks. The only neighbor he's met so far is Martel. He doesn't know her too well, but he likes her well enough to consider her a friend.
Notable Habits: When he's out, he doesn't hang around the house too often, but sometimes, he'll practice his swordplay behind the house near the river. For the past couple weeks, he was also looking after the black roses in the front of the house, the ones Vincent planted, but that's probably become Gilbert's job again since he returned.
School: Nope.
Other Groups: Nope.
Hangouts: The library or the barracks. The river just outside his house is nice, too, but he doesn't go out there often.
Other: There is probably a lot of yelling around the Pandora house. When Elliot goes out, it's often with his servant, but not always. There used to be a garden behind the house, too, but thanks to Leo, well... not anymore. Elliot can be loud, but he's no good at socializing, and he doesn't hold long conversations with people unless he has something to say. He also generally minds his own business unless something is wrong (people are fighting, someone is hurt, etc.). Then, he'll force his way into others' business. :|
Completed: September 15, 2011.
Common Knowledge Meme
+ Leo (
+ Gilbert Nightray (
+ Elliot is hotheaded, loud, and obnoxious. While capable of holding normal conversations, he is just as capable of yelling at someone, tearing them down emotionally, and probably kicking their ass.
+ He does indeed dress like this all the time. He doesn't really act like a nobleman, but he certainly looks the part.
+ He goes to the library with his servant pretty often. He doesn't take out as many books as his servant does, and he's probably not very mindful of the concept "silence is golden".
+ He enjoys listening to and playing music on the piano. He likes writing his own music.
+ He always carries his sword with him. It's a black blade that bears his family crest.
+ Despite his violent attitude, he's much more gentle than he looks. It's often commented upon in canon that he's well-meaning and kindhearted (all of which he firmly denies), even by people he's nothing but rude towards.
Things Some People Would Know:
+ Despite his love for music, he can't play the piano anymore.
+ There is a particular book series from his world that he is obsessed with called "Holy Knight". And by obsessed, I mean 'blushes at the thought of how heroic the protagonist is' obsessed.
+ He stops by the flower shop on occasion to look at the flowers. He tries to avoid being seen, though.
+ He practices his swordplay outside of his house, house 53, and occasionally at the barracks.
+ There are black roses being grown in front of the house. They were Vincent's.
Things Few People Would Know:
+ There is a nasty scar on his left hand from the time he, you know, stabbed himself.
+ He's an illegal contractor. For people who might sense the presence of other beings that are not visible, they'd definitely sense his chain.
+ He loves kittens. They also make him blush.
+ He thinks his servant has really beautiful eyes??

Daily Life Meme
2) Weight: No canon weight. Maybe around 130 lbs (59 kg).
3) Eye color/Hair Color: Blue eyes, light... blonde/brown hair. His hair is kind of a mystery.
4) Age: Seventeen.
5) Physical features: He wears a pair of light blue studs in his ears (barely visible here), has a birthmark under his left eye, and has a scar on his left hand from being stabbed with his sword.
6) Voice: He's voiced by Hirofumi Nojima in the anime. See: Cool guys tell cats to shut the hell up.
7) Who do they live with and how are chores divided in their house/apartment?: He lives with his brothers Gilbert and Vincent Nightray (
8) Their favorite (and least favorite, if you want) foods and who does the cooking in their house/apartment?: Gilbert does most of the cooking, and if he's not around to do it, Leo will cook for Elliot and himself. He's picky about his food, but Gil's a pretty good cook, so it's usually not a big deal.
9) What they do during an average day in Luceti: Read! He could spend hours reading, and he enjoys doing it. They aren't quite everyday activities, but he practices swordplay often and likes to (attempt to) write music sometimes. In general, he stays around the house, but he likes to go out on better days just to walk around, because he's the type to get antsy after sitting still for too long.
10) Their general sense of fashion: Like a boss. ...by which I mean like a typical Victorian nobleman, of course. When it come to color, he wears a lot of black, gray, and white, with the occasional splash of blue. He wears clothes that don't expose much skin at all, and he usually wears a pair of gloves when he goes out. He goes without jackets (like so) around the house and when it's warmer out, and when it's colder, he wears a nice, long coat. His formal clothes bear the Nightray family crest, but he obviously doesn't wear these as often.
11) Do they have any hobbies? Did they come up with these hobbies in Luceti, or was it something they always did?: Reading, music (writing, playing the piano, though these are a bit difficult now), and swordplay are his main hobbies. These are things he's always done and enjoys pretty often in Luceti! He hasn't come up with any new hobbies since he arrived. (He had been coaxed into attempting gardening during an experiment, but after his servant ruined the garden, he hasn't tried to take care of plants since.)
12) Has the situation in Luceti changed their view on certain topics/the way they react to different things?: Not really. He's pretty much disliked Luceti from the start, but he doesn't mind the people here.
13) Do they have a weapon? If so, do they carry it at all times or just under certain circumstances?: He has a black sword that he received as a gift from his father. It's a symbol that represents his position as a member of the Nightray house... or, at least, that's what he was told. It's easily the most important thing he's ever owned. Ever. 14) Who are their neighbors?: Mithos and Martel in house 52 and Reiko, Takashi, and Tanuma in house 54.
15) Who are their best friends in Luceti? How often do they spend time with them and doing what? His best friend in allll of Luceti would be Leo, but he's been pretty (unsure) about him since he returned to Luceti. He's not quite as close to anyone else as he is to him, but he cares a lot about his Luceti friends even if he doesn't see them often (...which he doesn't, because engaging friends in an inform setting is not something he's used to).
no subject
17) Wing color and how do they deal with their wings?: His wings are black. He doesn't hide them, but he doesn't tend to acknowledge them, either. He doesn't like them since he's not supposed to have them, but otherwise, they're just kind of there.
18) Did they change or grow in any way physically since coming to Luceti?: He's gotten a little taller!
I would say something about his hair but I'm not sure anyone knows how that works. His hair has probably grown, too, but he never leaves it that way—he always maintains his appearance.19) What do they miss the most from home?: ...um. :|; Well, his family!! Which is ironic, considering the only other possible place he could see them now is Luceti...!
20) What does their handwriting look like? Do they write the way they talk, or is there a clear difference between the two?: His handwriting is probably a little neater than average. Not beautiful, flowing script or anything, but neat. For the most part, he writes the way he speaks. (You know, except for all the yelling. He doesn't really convey that in his writing.)
21) Is the way they act in person different from the way they act over the journal system?: He doesn't really act different, but it might seem that way. He will seem more polite through his writing, since if he's speaking, he's prone to... well, speaking too loud. So in his voiced entries (which is also how he is in person), he might seem to be your typical rude, obnoxious teenage boy, while in written ones, he seems much more calm and well-mannered.
22) Did they gain/lose any personal goals during their stay in Luceti?: Yes to both! His personal goal at home was to figure out the identity of the Headhunter, but that's something that's obviously hard for him to do in Luceti, so it's not much of a goal anymore. On the other hand, being in Luceti has taught him that there are a lot of things he doesn't understand, besides his unusual dreams, so that's something he wants to figure out now.
23) Is Luceti a technological upgrade, or downgrade for them? Have they adapted to these changes well?: Upgrade! It's still really strange for him, all these appliances and electricity and things, but it's not so bad because... he doesn't hav eto use them. His brother and his servant do. :|
24) FOR STUDENTS: What is their favorite class? What is their least favorite class? What about their general behavior in school?:N/A25) FOR DRINKERS: What is their favorite drink? What is their least favorite drink? Do they prefer Good Spirits or Cloud Nine? What's their attitude about and while drinking?:N/A26) Do they have any special talents? If so, what are they?: He can compose and play his own music on the piano! Unfortunately, an injury at home makes playing for him difficult, so he doesn't do it very much in Luceti (unless he wants to become frustrated). He is also skilled in swordplay.
27) Have they learned any new skills or abilities in Luceti? If so, what are they? Why and how? Nope. He'd learned a bit about gardening, but he lost interest in it when the garden ~mysteriously~ failed.
28) What kind of habits do they have on drafts? Are they willing to kill or do they prefer to avoid fighting? Elliot is a fighter, but he fights defensively, not offensively. He's the type of person who'd prefer to fight to help someone else rather than just fight for the sake of fighting. He can be reckless, but again, usually only for someone else's sake.
29) What kind of habits do they have on missions? What is their reason for going on them? What do they intend to use their points for?N/A30) How long have they been in Luceti? Has that length of time impacted them in any way?: He arrived on March 6th, 2011, so he's been here for a year and one month. The length of time hasn't really made much of an impact on him. ...well, you know, besides pissing him off.
31) How do they unwind and get back to normal after a brutal experiment, event, or draft? Time to practice that swordplay. >:| He's not really a battle dome person, practicing over in the barracks or something works just fine.
32) What is their worst experience from an experiment or kidnapping? Were there any that they actually liked? His worst experience might have been the time when the battle dome went crazy. It didn't do much to him personally, but his chain, Humpty Dumpty, made an appearance then and what happened that day has been frustrating him ever since.
